I'm glad i watched this eventually. :) I just saw the hint about making the 5mm cuts in polyethylene cable (of which POTA Flex 7 is). That explains why I had so much trouble getting the silver component into the cable.

M&P have really paid attention to innovation. Can't use anything now. Excellent engineering.

How people can use other junk puzzles me. The connectors alone are far superior design and quality.

Where i can buy Crimping tool for 6,15mm (0.242)?

Just bought 6 of these from MLynch&Sons. CO.UHF.7M-S EVO and they appear to be different to the previous ones which i bought last month, the white insulator which the pin goes through is now permanently fixed into the plug body and it comes with the 2 pins for solid/stranded, the dimensions in this video were spot on, fitted fine, i do hope that this is a new design any they didn't supply the wrong ones!.

3:15 message says "If you prefer you can avoid to solder, tightening the core thanks to its flexible fins'. Does this mean soldier is not required but recommended?

Referring to your video, if you will angle the solder from the left instead of the right, then you can avoid getting solder on the outside of the center pin as you did.

Reading the comments for this video, you replied to a comment saying: Quote "you should cut the excess braid and you should solder the hole of the central conductor (but only for a few seconds without exceeding the tinning!)". Why didn't you do this in the video? I have 8 N-Type Male connectors to make, and I'm glad I read the comments. As a way of a suggestion for future videos you make, please be more accurate, and it would be great if we the viewer could actually listen to a real human speaking every step of making up the connector- instead of some background music.

This video is perhaps the best instructional video I have seen. Clear, concise and comprehensive. kudos!

Messi, video interessante, solo un paio di appunti sulle misure: nel video si vede solo una calibrazione OSL della porta 1, non si è vista la calibrazione della porta 2, e la calibrazione Thru per 21e12? Consiglio a vs tecnico, quando collega gli standard di calibrazione di NON ruotare tutto il connettore (c'è anche scritto sopra DO NOT ROTATE) va tenuto fermo sulla parte dorata, e si deve ruotare solo la ghiera, per evitare il consumo anomalo della spinetta! Andrebbe anche spiegato che le misure dei cavi, devono essere fatte su di una lunghezza di almeno 30m, per avere valori medi attendibili, chi misura spezzoni da 5 o 10m, commette errori che possono essere rilevanti in termini di attenuazione! In ultimo la misura del velocity factor è ok, ma in termini pratici al radioamatore, è un dato che serve SOLO se deve costruire uno stub di adattamento, e null'altro non influisce minimamente a livello radio se il segnale viaggia piu veloce! Comunque penso che ormai la qualità dei vs cavi sia riconosciuta a livello mondiale, ancora COMPLIMENTI. Un caro saluto ❤

Curious that they made the distance between the center conductor and shield so short by cutting the dialectic in this way. Way too close for comfort for me anyway.

Why do these plugs come with two center pins. One with a hole for soldiering and the other without?

any advice for how to slide the rubber seal over HF5 for a HYF5MS-90? It seems really tight and difficult to move. What lube is a good choice? Would a drop of soapy water work? HF5 N right-angle seems to be missing video 🙂

Can you please show how reflective the cable is at dusk and night when illuminated by a flashlight? Is it really reflective?
